Revelation Performing Arts Studio, Brooklyn’s premier faith-based, nonprofit performing arts organization hosted their Second Annual Women's Day Event, Fresh Oil "Still I RISE!" at their state-of-the-art facility, founded by Mrs. Bibi Chapman. Members of the performance repertoire (Shontae, Adrienne, Sherille, and Khadijah) greeted more than 40 women from Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan, with a smile and a heartfelt welcome. The atmosphere was set for a “Holy Ghost” experience. “Still I Rise” yellow personalized balloons floated above the tabletops, aroma candles glistened in the rooms, and dinner tables were covered with linen, fine china and candlelit centerpieces. Every woman experienced pampering from Lisa and her sister (co-founders) using their own deliciously scented Body Blessings products, a Mary Kay makeover by Lisa and Felicia, and experienced “pure” dance ministry from Revelation Performing Arts Repertoire (Ms. Sam, Director). The evening reached its pinnacle as the anointed psalmist; Ms. Kim sang her signature rendition of “Lord You’re Holy!” while the women awaited a mouth watering meal fit for a “queen.” prepared by host Michael Harley and his mom (Mrs. Harley); preparing an atmosphere of fellowship and worship. The powerful and anointed keynote speaker, Minister Melissa Redmond, supplied each woman with their very own “upper room” experience as she spiritually edified them with an “on time” word “What God Does When He Calls a Woman,” leaving everyone “full” yet wanting more! Finally, these beautiful 40 or more women, who did not think it too much to support the arts in the community-departed wonderfully blessed, smiles on their faces and Revelation Performing Arts’ Signature Gift Bags in their hands filled with forget-me-nots. Oh! I almost forgot and individual packed scrumptious cheesecakes topped with bananas, pineapples, and cherries made especially for them-packed with God’s main ingredient “love” baked from scratch.
